Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming Oct. 26 - Oct. 30. This is the event that excites kids about reading and earns funds for our school! Be sure to set up your child’s ewallet so they don’t suffer Book Fair FOMO — get them prepared to shop at EGRMS Book Fair.

Thank you to everyone who made last week's sold out East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation Awards Dinner such an amazing event!
Cadence co-founder Susan Lovell, our Community Service Award honoree, was clearly thrilled with her award. Our tribute to Distinguished Alumni honoree the late AJ Birkbeck, EGRHS class of 1978, was inspiring. And the remarks from Distinguished Alumni honoree Dr. Nii Addy, EGRHS class of 1996, about growing up in East Grand Rapids and his life’s work as a neuroscientist, were as fascinating as they were informative.
If you know someone who should be considered for the Community Service or Distinguished Alumni awards, you can nominate them on the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation's website, egrsf.org.
A special thank you to the high school students in the string quartet who played during our social hour, our Madrigals choir for their uplifting performances, and to our EGRSF student board members, Caleb Rapoport ‘27 and Lucy Custer ‘28, who presented our Excellence in Teaching and James and Georgia Nicholas Endowed Awards for 2025 and 2026 to Heather Carlson, Andrea Dudley, Kailey Faris, Kristen Borak, Adam Horos, and Corey Kapolka.

East Grand Rapids Public Schools and the City of East Grand Rapids collaborated to produce this Pedestrian and Bike Safety video for East families! This is a great resource for families to start the conversation about safe commutes to school and around the community.
Thank you to the students who participated, and a special thanks to Ms. Slanger (Lakeside Elementary Principal) and Mr. Jager (Middle School Assistant Principal) for their collaboration with Public Safety to create this latest safety video.

PIERS Program
Our PIERS program aims to purposefully engage students in growing relationships with peers and staff as a foundational support for all students at EGRMS during their middle school years and beyond!
Day of Caring
Day of Caring
EGRMS’s Day of Caring is an annual tradition in which the entire student body provides community service within the greater Grand Rapids area. Over the course of one school day, over 1,300 hours of community service are provided! Additionally, the school partners with one organization to teach students about the importance of volunteer service and to raise money for that organization.
Regatta
Regatta
The EGRMS Regatta is an annual team building event that takes place on Reeds Lake at John Collins Park. Students work in teams to create a boat out of cardboard and duct tape, then compete in a race against other classes. This event serves as the annual fundraiser for the EGRMS PTO.
